ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਏਜੰਸੀ (ਐਨਆਈਏ) ਨੇ ਐਤਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਅਹਿਮ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਨੂੰ ਹਿਰਾਸਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਆ, ਜੋ ਡੰਕੀ ਰੂਟ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੈਰ-ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਭੇਜਣ ਦੇ ਰੈਕੇਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸੀ।

 ਇਸ ਕੇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੱਛਮੀ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਦੇ ਤਿਲਕ ਨਗਰ ਦੇ ਨਿਵਾਸੀ ਗਗਨਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੋਲਡੀ ਵੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਨੂੰ ਫੜਿਆ ਗਿਆ। ਐਨਆਈਏ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਿਆਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਪੀੜਤ, ਜੋ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਤਰਨਤਾਰਨ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਦਾ ਵਸਨੀਕ ਹੈ, ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਾਪਸ ਲਿਆਂਦਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਬਿਆਨ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ, ਦਸੰਬਰ 2024 ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਡੰਕੀ ਰੂਟ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਨਾਲ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।

ਡੰਕੀ ਰੂਟ ਉਹ ਗੈਰ-ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਰਸਤੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਸੀ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਦਸਤਾਵੇਜ਼ਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਵਰਗੇ ਮੁਲਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਇਹ ਖਤਰਨਾਕ ਅਤੇ ਚੁਣੌਤੀਪੂਰਨ ਸਫ਼ਰ ਅਕਸਰ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਤਸਕਰੀ ਦੇ ਗਿਰੋਹਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸੰਚਾਲਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਭਾਰਤ ਵਾਪਸ ਆਉਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਏਜੰਟ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਇਤ

ਸ਼ਿਕਾਇਤ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ, ਪੀੜਤ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਗੈਰ-ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਲਈ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਏਜੰਟ ਨੂੰ ਤਕਰੀਬਨ 45 ਲੱਖ ਰੁਪਏ ਅਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਸਨ। ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ 15 ਫਰਵਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਾਪਸ ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਭਾਰਤ ਪਹੁੰਚਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ, ਪੀੜਤ ਨੇ ਏਜੰਟ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਇਤ ਦਰਜ ਕਰਵਾਈ।

ਗੋਲਡੀ ਨੇ ਵਰਤਿਆ ਡੰਕੀ ਰੂਟ

ਇਹ ਮਾਮਲਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਪੁਲਸ ਨੇ ਦਰਜ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ, ਪਰ 13 ਮਾਰਚ ਨੂੰ ਐਨਆਈਏ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੈ ਲਈ। ਜਾਂਚ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗਾ ਕਿ ਗੋਲਡੀ ਨੇ ਪੀੜਤ ਨੂੰ ਸਪੇਨ, ਅਲ ਸਲਵਾਡੋਰ, ਗੁਆਟੇਮਾਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਕਸੀਕੋ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਭੇਜਣ ਲਈ ਡੰਕੀ ਰੂਟ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕੀਤੀ।

ਗੋਲਡੀ ਕੋਲ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ ਭੇਜਣ ਲਈ ਕੋਈ ਜਾਇਜ਼ ਲਾਇਸੈਂਸ, ਪਰਮਿਟ ਜਾਂ ਰਜਿਸਟ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ। ਐਨਆਈਏ ਦੇ ਬਿਆਨ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ, ਜਾਂਚ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਇਆ ਕਿ ਗੋਲਡੀ ਦੇ ਸਾਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਸਫ਼ਰ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਪੀੜਤ ‘ਤੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸ਼ੋਸ਼ਣ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਡਾਲਰ ਵੀ ਖੋਹ ਲਏ।

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested the main accused involved in the illegal trafficking of people to the United States through the "Donkey Route" on Sunday. The accused, Gagandeep Singh alias Goldy, a resident of Tilak Nagar in West Delhi, was taken into custody. According to an NIA statement, the victim, originally from Tarn Taran district in Punjab, had been deported back to India earlier this month. The statement further mentioned that the victim had been sent to the U.S. via the Donkey Route in December 2024.


The Donkey Route refers to pathways used by migrants to illegally enter countries like the U.S. without any documentation. These dangerous and challenging journeys are often facilitated by human trafficking syndicates.


Complaint Against Agent After Victim’s Return to India


According to the complaint, the victim had paid approximately 45 lakh rupees to the accused agent for illegal immigration. The victim was deported from the U.S. to India on February 15. After returning to India, the victim filed a complaint against the agent.


Goldy Used the Donkey Route


This case was originally filed by the Punjab Police, and on March 13, the NIA took over the investigation. The NIA's probe revealed that Goldy had used the Donkey Route to send victims to the U.S. via Spain, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Mexico.


Goldy did not have any license, legal permit, or registration to send people abroad. The statement also revealed that during the difficult journey, Goldy's associates attacked and exploited the victim, stealing the dollars that were being carried by the victim.
