Chengappa has acquired a Tesla with a registration number that bears a striking resemblance to the one on the BMTC bus he used to ride to school.
An NRI originally from Bengaluru, now living in California, has won admiration by selecting a special registration number for his new Tesla vehicle. The number plate he chose is a homage to a retired BMTC bus driver and also holds a sentimental connection to his school days. Chengappa, the proud owner of the Tesla, opted for a registration number that closely resembles the one on the BMTC bus he used to take to school. The original bus number was "KA01F232," while his Tesla now bears "KA1F232."
Chengappa completed his schooling in Bengaluru and fondly remembers riding in a specific BMTC bus around 1992. To honor his school days and cherish his memories, he opted for a personalized number plate for his Tesla car. This gesture also serves as a tribute to the retired BMTC bus driver who drove that particular bus.
Dhanapal Manchenahalli, the retired BMTC driver, shared photos of both the school bus and Chengappa's Tesla on his social media account. He recounted how many school children enjoyed riding his bus during his tenure as a driver for BMTC unit 11 in 1992. Chengappa and Aditya were among those children who would frequently sit on the vehicle's bonnet during their daily commute. Aditya now lives in Germany, while Chengappa is residing in California, USA. Despite the distance, Chengappa and Dhanapal still keep in touch, and Chengappa's unique registration number serves as a tribute to the driver's dedicated service.
