 3 ਅਪ੍ਰੈਲ 2025 ਦਾ ਦਿਨ ਸਰਾਫਾ ਬਾਜ਼ਾਰ ਦੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਦਿਨ ਸੀ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਲੰਬੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੱਕ ਯਾਦ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।

 ਇਸ ਦਿਨ ਪਟਨਾ ਦੇ ਸਰਾਫਾ ਬਾਜ਼ਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਭਰ ਦੇ ਬਾਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਫਰਾ-ਤਫਰੀ ਦਾ ਮਾਹੌਲ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ। ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਪਤੀ ਡੋਨਾਲਡ ਟਰੰਪ ਦੇ ਟੈਰਿਫ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਾਰਨ ਸੋਨੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਕੀਮਤਾਂ ਆਸਮਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਛੂਹ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਸਨ, ਪਰ ਯੂਰਪੀਅਨ ਬਾਜ਼ਾਰ ਨੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ 'ਤੇ ਲਿਆ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਨਤੀਜੇ ਵਜੋਂ, 24 ਕੈਰੇਟ ਸੋਨੇ ਦੀ ਕੀਮਤ ਵਿੱਚ 2500 ਰੁਪਏ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ 10 ਗ੍ਰਾਮ ਦੀ ਕਮੀ ਆਈ, ਜਦਕਿ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਕੀਮਤਾਂ 4000 ਰੁਪਏ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਕਿਲੋਗ੍ਰਾਮ ਡਿੱਗ ਗਈਆਂ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਬਾਜ਼ਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਹੋਰ ਅਨੋਖਾ ਮੋੜ ਆਇਆ।

ਪਾਟਲੀਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਰਾਫਾ ਐਸੋਸੀਏਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਕੀਮਤ ਨਿਰਧਾਰਨ ਸਮਿਤੀ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਮੋਹਿਤ ਗੋਇਲ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਇਹ ਇੱਕ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਦਿਨ ਸੀ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਤਜਰਬਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਘੱਟ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਅਜਿਹੀ ਉਥਲ-ਪੁਥਲ ਬਾਜ਼ਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਰ ਦਿਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਾਪਰਦੀ। ਸੋਨੇ ਅਤੇ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਕੀਮਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਈ ਇਸ ਭਾਰੀ ਉਤਰਾਅ-ਚੜ੍ਹਾਅ ਨੇ ਨਿਵੇਸ਼ਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਇੱਕ ਦਿਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਪਰੀ ਇਹ ਘਟਨਾ ਬਾਜ਼ਾਰ ਦੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਲਿਖੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ।”

ਦੁਪਹਿਰ 1:30 ਵਜੇ ਦੇ ਕਰੀਬ ਜਦੋਂ ਯੂਰਪੀ ਬਾਜ਼ਾਰ ਖੁੱਲ੍ਹਿਆ, ਸੋਨੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਕੀਮਤਾਂ ਘਟਣ ਲੱਗੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਤਰਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਮੁਦਰਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ 3090 ਡਾਲਰ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਔਂਸ 'ਤੇ ਆ ਗਿਆ। 

ਭਾਰਤੀ ਰੁਪਏ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੀਐਸਟੀ ਸਮੇਤ 24 ਕੈਰੇਟ ਸੋਨੇ ਦੀ ਕੀਮਤ 93,750 ਰੁਪਏ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ 10 ਗ੍ਰਾਮ ਰਹਿ ਗਈ। ਸ਼ਾਮ 6 ਵਜੇ ਤੱਕ, ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਬਾਜ਼ਾਰ ਖੁੱਲ੍ਹਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ, ਸੋਨਾ 3065 ਡਾਲਰ ਤੱਕ ਡਿੱਗ ਗਿਆ, ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਮੁਦਰਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਕੀਮਤ 92,750 ਰੁਪਏ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ 10 ਗ੍ਰਾਮ ਹੋ ਗਈ।

ਸੋਨੇ ਦੀ ਕੀਮਤ ਵਿੱਚ 2500 ਰੁਪਏ ਦੀ ਗਿਰਾਵਟ

ਇਸ ਦਾ ਅਰਥ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਵੇਰੇ ਸੋਨਾ 95,250 ਰੁਪਏ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ 10 ਗ੍ਰਾਮ 'ਤੇ ਸੀ, ਪਰ ਸ਼ਾਮ 6 ਵਜੇ ਤੱਕ ਇਹ 92,750 ਰੁਪਏ 'ਤੇ ਆ ਗਿਆ, ਯਾਨੀ ਦਿਨ ਭਰ ਵਿੱਚ 2500 ਰੁਪਏ ਦੀ ਕਮੀ ਦਰਜ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ। ਮੋਹਿਤ ਗੋਇਲ ਨੇ ਹੈਰਾਨੀ ਜ਼ਾਹਿਰ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਇੱਕ ਅਸਾਧਾਰਨ ਗਿਰਾਵਟ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਮਾਹਿਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਚਕਰਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਬਾਜ਼ਾਰ ਦੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰ ਸੋਚ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ਕਿ ਸੋਨੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਕੀਮਤਾਂ ਹੁਣ ਘਟਣ ਦੇ ਰਾਹ 'ਤੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਇਹ ਅੰਦਾਜ਼ਾ ਸਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ।

ਜਦੋਂ ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਬਾਜ਼ਾਰ ਸ਼ਾਮ 7:30 ਵਜੇ ਖੁੱਲ੍ਹਿਆ, ਸੋਨੇ ਨੇ ਫਿਰ ਤੋਂ ਤੇਜ਼ੀ ਦਿਖਾਈ। ਕੁਝ ਹੀ ਸਮੇਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੋਨਾ 3120 ਡਾਲਰ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਔਂਸ 'ਤੇ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗਿਆ। ਭਾਰਤੀ ਮੁਦਰਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਕੀਮਤ 94,750 ਰੁਪਏ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ 10 ਗ੍ਰਾਮ ਹੋ ਗਈ। ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੋਨਾ ਲਗਭਗ ਸਵੇਰ ਵਾਲੇ ਰੇਟ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗਿਆ।

ਬਾਜ਼ਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਗਦੜ

ਸਰਾਫਾ ਬਾਜ਼ਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਿਨ ਭਰ ਚੱਲੀ ਉਥਲ-ਪੁਥਲ ਨੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਮੋਹਿਤ ਗੋਇਲ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਅੱਜ ਤੱਕ ਕੀਮਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੰਨੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਗਿਰਾਵਟ ਅਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਵਾਧਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਨੇ ਸਰਗਰਮ ਨਿਵੇਸ਼ਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਸੁਨਹਿਰੀ ਮੌਕਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ। ਸ਼ਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਜਦੋਂ ਕੀਮਤਾਂ ਘਟੀਆਂ, ਤਾਂ ਨਿਵੇਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਕੁਝ ਘੰਟਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਵੱਡਾ ਲਾਭ ਕਮਾਇਆ।

ਚਾਂਦੀ ਦੀ ਸਥਿਤੀ

ਟਰੰਪ ਦੇ ਟੈਰਿਫ ਐਲਾਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਵੀਰਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਬਾਜ਼ਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਦੀ ਕੀਮਤ ਜੀਐਸਟੀ ਸਮੇਤ 1,03,000 ਰੁਪਏ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਕਿਲੋਗ੍ਰਾਮ ਸੀ। ਪਰ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਨੇ ਸੋਨੇ ਵਾਂਗ ਉਤਰਾਅ-ਚੜ੍ਹਾਅ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿਖਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਗਿਰਦੀ ਰਹੀ। ਰਾਤ ਤੱਕ ਚਾਂਦੀ 99,000 ਰੁਪਏ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਕਿਲੋਗ੍ਰਾਮ 'ਤੇ ਆ ਗਈ, ਯਾਨੀ ਦਿਨ ਭਰ ਵਿੱਚ 4000 ਰੁਪਏ ਦੀ ਗਿਰਾਵਟ ਦਰਜ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ।

ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਬਾਜ਼ਾਰ ਦਾ ਦਬਦਬਾ

ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਬਾਜ਼ਾਰ ਨੇ ਯੂਰਪੀ ਬਾਜ਼ਾਰ ਕਾਰਨ ਆਈ ਗਿਰਾਵਟ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਲਿਆ। ਮੋਹਿਤ ਗੋਇਲ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਬਾਜ਼ਾਰ ਦੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਸੋਨੇ ਦੀ 2500 ਰੁਪਏ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ 10 ਗ੍ਰਾਮ ਦੀ ਗਿਰਾਵਟ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਝ ਮਿੰਟਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਲਗਭਗ ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ, ਚਾਂਦੀ ਵਿੱਚ 4000 ਰੁਪਏ ਦੀ ਕਮੀ ਬਰਕਰਾਰ ਰਹੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਇਹ ਇੱਕ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਦਿਨ ਸੀ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਸਦਾ ਯਾਦ ਰੱਖਣਗੇ।”

Due to the tariff war caused by U.S. President Donald Trump's policies, the price of gold, which was soaring to sky-high levels, came crashing down in European markets. As a result, the price of 24-carat gold dropped by ₹2,500 per 10 grams. While silver also saw a decline of ₹4,000, another twist followed.

Mohit Goel, the convenor of the Patliputra Gold Association's Price Determination Committee, remarked, "This was a day that many people may never have witnessed in their lifetime. Such a storm doesn't occur in the market every day. This dramatic fluctuation in the prices of gold and silver left investors stunned. The day's turmoil has now been etched in the history of the market."

At around 1:30 p.m., when European markets opened, gold started to get cheaper, reaching $3,090 per ounce in international currency. In Indian currency, with GST included, the price of 24-carat gold dropped to ₹93,750 per 10 grams. By 6 p.m., before the U.S. market opened, the price of gold fell further to $3,065 per ounce, which translated to ₹92,750 per 10 grams in Indian currency.

Gold Dropped by ₹2,500

This meant that in the morning, the price of gold was ₹95,250 per 10 grams, but by 6 p.m., it had dropped to ₹92,750, reflecting a decrease of ₹2,500 per 10 grams. Mohit Goel expressed surprise, calling it an exceptionally large drop, which astonished market experts. At that point, experts believed that the price of gold had reached its peak and was now on a downward trajectory. However, this assumption proved to be wrong.

When the U.S. market opened at 7:30 p.m., gold began to rise sharply again. In a matter of moments, it soared to $3,120 per ounce. In Indian currency, this raised the price of gold to ₹94,750 per 10 grams, almost back to the morning's level.

Market Turmoil

The bullion market remained in a state of turmoil throughout the day. Mohit Goel believed that this level of volatility and subsequent price rise had never been witnessed before. For active investors, it presented an excellent opportunity. When the price of gold fell in the evening, investors who bought in quickly saw substantial profits within hours.

Now, turning to silver

After the tariff imposed by Donald Trump, the price of silver in the Indian market, including GST, stood at ₹1,03,000 per kilogram on Thursday. However, unlike gold, silver did not exhibit a similar performance. It continued its one-way decline. By evening, the price of silver fell to ₹99,000 per kilogram, marking a ₹4,000 drop in a single day.

The U.S. Market Stepped In

The U.S. market helped to reverse the steep decline in gold prices caused by the European markets. According to Mohit Goel, the power of the American market was evident as it quickly compensated for the ₹2,500 drop in gold prices per 10 grams within minutes. In contrast, silver saw a ₹4,000 drop. He mentioned, "Many people may not have seen such a day in their entire lives."

Mohit Goel also noted that although Trump imposed tariffs on goods coming from foreign countries, the U.S. manufacturing sector is still not self-sufficient at that level. As a result, when the U.S. stock market opened at 7 p.m. Indian time, it led to uncertainty among investors, causing a sharp fall in the market.
